Eco-Abet: Designing for Healthy Rivers in an Old Space

For one day each year, Eco Abet invites the Kansas City design community (a large network of volunteers consisting of architects, urban planners, engineers, lawyers, developers, historic preservationists, and graphic designers) to offer their services and talents to organizations that can't otherwise afford design services. For the 2015 Summer Charrette, Eco Abet selected Healthy Rivers Partnership (HRP) as one of two recipients for a day-long design brainstorming session to reimagine its 1930s-era warehouse in Kansas City’s West Bottoms.

In June 205, Historic Green formed a team of architects, engineers, historic preservationists, urban planners & construction professionals to help turn HRP’s Santeria Building into a vibrant headquarters & volunteer space to grow its mission of protecting and educating the public about critical watersheds in Western Missouri.
