Historic Window Restoration Workshop

Historic Green co-sponsored our third window restoration workshop in Kansas City to demonstrate how re-glazing, glass replacement & weatherization can make a big difference in energy efficiency for historic homes - in this case, a 1920s bungalow.

This house is one of three recently transferred from Rockhurst University to Community LINC Housing (CLH) for renovating and connecting with a qualified buyer. They are part of CLH's mission to increase access and decrease barriers for low-income families seeking affordable, sustainable homeownership.

CLH is proud to host a variety of sustainable renovation providers and advocates during its work to renovate as responsibly as possible. Neighbors, RU students, preservation, renovation and affordable housing advocates alike are all welcome to join the workshop. A team of roughly 6 is needed to complete the actual hands-on restoration work, but the house will be open all day to visitors interested in this great opportunity to learn and connect.

Thanks to our co-sponsors for making this event a reality: Community LINC, Taylor Original Wood Window Restoration & Repair, and EnergySmart Institute.
